Who Are We?
The Skyline church of Christ is a group of Christians
that has mutually agreed to meet at appointed times to worship
God according to the New Testament pattern (John 4:23,24; 2 Timothy
1:13). It is not a part of any denominational organization, nor
is it Catholic, Protestant, nor Jewish. As in the first century,
during the age of the apostles of Christ, there were churches
of Christ (Rom. 16:16), so today there are many churches of Christ
throughout the land, and we are simply one of those bands of Christians.
On the first day of the week we meet to remember
the Lords death by partaking of the Lords Supper (Acts
20:7; 1 Cor. 11:18-34), to sing Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs
(Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16), to pray (1 Cor. 14:15,16; Acts 4:24ff;
12:5), to give of our prosperity (1 Cor. 16:1,2; 2 Cor. 9:7),
and to preach and teach Gods Word (Acts 20:7; Col. 4:16).
We have Bible classes on Sunday mornings and on
Wednesday nights. We welcome all visitors who come to seek Gods
word and to worship him in spirit and in truth.
Periodically we have special series of preaching
from night to night. These are announced in Upcoming Events.
Should one be seeking entertainment and an outlet
for emotionalism, there are denominations about geared to supply
such. Do not expect this in your visit to our assemblies. But
if you are one that God is seeking to worship him (Jn. 4:23),
and you are seeking to please him and not yourself, you will find
a cordial welcome at the Skyline church of Christ!
